This spoon has been passed down through generations, every other generation of women gets to engrave their initials on this silver spoon. My grandma has the spoon currently and she will pass it on to me. The initials on the back are my grandmother's great aunt's initials. The spoon is over 102 years old! i know this because the company on the back of the spoon went out of business in 1916. Through this project I learned that I am related to John and Lawrence Washington, parents of George Washington who immigrated to the states from England in 1657.
