The place that saved my mom
The Children's Hospital saved my mom from being disabled for the rest of her life. My mom had no choice but to come to the United States because when she was in Mexico she had a disease in her leg. The doctors in Mexico wanted to cut off her leg so the disease would stop spreading but it was not necessary. So my grandparents had to sell everything they had so that they can get to the United States. When they got there they did not have any money. Then they found this hospital called the Martin Luther King Jr. When they took my mom there they put her in a cast but they put the cast wrong. So she would have a lot of itching that she couldn't scratch. She would cry to my grandma about how much pain she was in. So my grandma took her out of there. My mom was still in pain so this lady helped them by telling them to take her to the Children's Hospital. When they got there they opened the cast that the other hospital put on and they were mad because they saw that they put the cast on wrong and wanted to press charges on them but my grandma was scared because she didn't have any papers. So they didn't do it and they helped my mom by stopping the disease from spreading. Although they helped my mom she was stuck on the bed for more than a year and when she was cured she had to learn how to walk again. This is why the Children's Hospital is important to my family because it saved my mom from the disease and from being disabled for the rest of her life.
