my mom's Bible

My object is a Bible that used to be my mother’s when she was in high school. It is now one that we share among my family. She had written her name on the side of it, and it is still in perfect condition. Although we do have a number of other Bibles to read during family prayer, which we do every night, my favorite is this one. The Bible is a huge part of tradition in my family, as is prayer. A lot of our culture revolves around our religion, including baptisms, weddings, communions, and more. The Bible mirrors my family’s identity because India, the country both my parents emigrated from, is only 1.7% Catholic, making us the minority. My mom and my dad were raised Catholics, and this is something that they took with them to America and made it a point to teach to their children.
