I moved to New York City from Brazil almost 20 years ago, right after college... I left my entire family behind to search for the American dream on the land of the free where government was ruled for the people and by the people. As I planned my trip back then, a friend of mine decided to take pictures of my favorite stops in Bahia, where I'm originally from in Brazil. I often look back at these images, searching for mirrors that could remind me of my own identity and inner voice. As I reflect back trying to move forward during these unprecedented times, I know that I still hold on to my vision of America.
