I'm going to be talking about tamales because tamales are an important part of the mexican culture. I learned how to make tamales from my mom and my mom learned from her mom. The reason i learned was to help out my mom  when she makes tamales for the holidays. It is important to me because when i help make tamales i spend time with my mom and sister that help out as well. When we are making the tamales we all talk about things and have fun while cooking and we get to know new things about each other that we didn't already know.  Tamales are part of my culture and in the past and in the present  and probably in the future the culture will still go on. This is an important part of me because when we do tamales it only on special occasion like when family members from other places come to visit.
