Tamales

My Great Grandma immigrated to America a little after WWI. My great-grandma was able to immigrate to America through an Immigrant Visa. She was sponsored by her husband at the time which allowed her to move to America. When my Great Grandmother traveled to America, she brought with her some basic necessities and a couple of recipes. One of the recipes that my Great Grandma brought was a recipe that her mom had for Tamales. Each year around New Years she would make tamales for her and my grandma. Because of this, my grandma started making tamales every New Years for my Dad, And my Dad for me and my family. Since my Great Grandma immigrated, she started a tradition that has lasted two generations and counting.
