A tajadera is a special kind of knife from Honduras that I use to cut plantains. It’s a really meaningful tool for me because I've seen it being used since I was a kid and plantains are a huge part of my culture. When i am tasked with cutting the plantains the tajadera makes it so much easier and faster yet it is more dangerous and you have to be more careful since one wrong move and ur fingertip could be gone. We use this to make tajadas which is fried plantain in thin slices or tostones. This may seem like something simple but each time we have to use it it reminds and connects me to my culture and memories with using it.
