I chose a big pot that my grandmother uses to make gumbo every New Year. As our family gets together, and has a great time collectively. She even gets help making it from the family, giving the feeling that every time that pot gets brought out everyone gets a little closer. Giving us that warm feeling that we get as we eat together as a great big happy family. The pot represents some of the best moments on New Years as we partied and ate together. Its as if my grandmother through this tradition can keep us together and bring us even closer at times. Remembering as far back as me being seven or eight years old trying to stay up till midnight with all my cousins, uncles, and aunts just having an amazing time.
