My parents immigrated to America from Ecuador in around the year 1997.  One of the objects my dad brought was a soccer jersey from Ecuador. My dad wanted to bring this object to America because he liked playing soccer and he enjoyed the game on TV.  Also, he brought the jersey to remind him how much he loved soccer.
My dad gave me the jersey because he wants me to remember what the jersey meant to him.  He has a special connection to Ecuador, especially now that his brother has returned back to our country, and is living with their mom.  My father is planning to go back to his country for a visit during the summer.  I am excited too, because I will be in Ecuador spending my summer vacation with him.  Both my parents talked to me about the animals that live there and I am looking forward to seeing the animals during my visit.   This is a picture of the soccer jersey that my father brought with him when he left Ecuador.
