Silver Earrings
These earrings were given as a gift from my grandmother to my mother when my mom was really young. My mom was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and immigrated to the United States with her mother and two younger brothers when she was seven years old. My grandfather had left Pakistan and moved to Jersey City a few years prior to set up an apartment and to get a job before his wife and children joined him in the United States. My grandmother, my mom, and my uncles flew from Pakistan to Newark Airport in November of 1977.
My grandma bought these earrings for my mom when she went to visit her family in Pakistan in the 1980s. I recently received these earrings from my mom as a gift. I appreciate the story behind these earrings and they are important to me. I also think they are really pretty and the clip that is attached is really cool. I plan to pass them down to my children in the future.
