Serbian Glass Crystal

My family migrated here from Serbia and I am the 3rd generation to live here from my grandma on my dad's side of the family. This glass crystal was found in my grandma's house after she had passed away and we were going through her belonging. There was an entire set of these glasses that got spread around my family so that we all could still have a piece of her and are connected through this heritage. While my family is unsure of how the crystal got here we assume it came when my grandma's family first moved here. To me, this object represents the roots my family has placed in our hometown since I am also the third generation to live in the same town. When I look at it I see all the hard work it took my family to move to a brand new country and truly make a new place their home. My dad's side of the family is quite large (there are 6 kids and about 22 grandchildren) and the fact that each family has a different glass from this set shows how unified and close we are as a family, even though some of my dad's siblings have moved away.
