Can a seemingly ordinary necklace actually mean something to your culture? For me it means a lot to my culture my grandmother passed it down to my father and my father gave it to me.  This necklace called "escapulario", represents my religion. A scapular is a devotional garment in Christianity consisting of two small fabric panels connected by strings, worn over the shoulders with one panel on the chest and the other on the back. It's a common tradition to pass it down to their children.  It means a lot to me because it was passed down to me, it's been passed down three generations. My father gave it to me for protection, and it has been blessed with Holy Water. I'm sure that when I have a kid I'll pass it down to keep the tradition going.
