My item is Sam the Matzo Man. I think my parents first got Sam the Matzo Man when I was around 8 or 9 years old.  He is a toy that my parents bought for passover. If you press the red button he will start singing a song about Matzo and how he makes Matzo. My mom got him because we were hosting our family for dinner for Passover and my mom saw the toy so she decided to buy it. The guests thought that Sam was Funny and liked the song that he sang. He brought entertainment value every time he was used. During passover when Jews were trying to escape Egypt they brought bread with them as their food to heat. Since the Jews were in a hurry to escape Egypt they didn’t wait for the bread to fully rise so all they had to eat was the flatbread. That flatbread is now called matzo. It’s a tradition to eat Matzo on Passover now to remember that day and to celebrate the Jews escaping Egypt. My grandma thought that Sam was a cool way to celebrate Passover and liked the song that he sang. I think my grandma bought a Sam the Matzo Man for her house as well. Most of the time Sam just sits on a shelf unused but whenever passover comes around then he always features.
