Puerto Rican Rosary

While not traditional, the immigration story of mine is shared by many people. It begins with the end of the Spanish American war, and the Acquisition of  Puerto Rico by the United States whereby my Great Grandfather, and many other Puerto Ricans had their homes, transferred from Spanish to American control, thereby moving my family into the U.S. Then after the 1917 Jones act my family attained American citizenship, something which it holds to this day. Like most Puerto Ricans, we cherish our American citizenship and hope that the US accepts the island of Puerto Rico as a state sometime in the future.
