My object is a piece of clothing from Bangladesh . It is called a Salwar Kameez (SHAL-WAR-KAH-MEZ). This type of clothing is worn on special holidays and events . Women and girls can wear it anytime they want to as well. You can find these Salwar Kameezs in American Bengali stores . My Salwar Kameez is special to me because it reminds me about my country ,Bangladesh. My Salwar Kameez is made out of fine silk and with special and fancy designs . It is also made of beads around the collar and the bottom parts of the sleeve. The Salwar Kameez comes with a silk scarf and pants to. The colors of my Salwar Kameez is the color of Bangladesh (red and green). My aunt from Bangladesh gave me this Salwar Kameez as a gift . I chose this object because it is a part of my country . It is important to me because when I wear it you know that I am from Bangladesh. This object is connected to my grandma and my aunts because they also have ones that are similar. My grandma taught my aunt and mother how to style the scarf that comes with the Salwar Kameez. So, my mom taught me how to style my own scarf and I will teach my own daughters. If my aunts from Bangladesh were here, they might ask me why I don’t wear my Salwar Kameez more often . My aunts might be concerned that I’ve might’ve lost some of cultural heritage . I am very happy of where my family has originated .
