I watched a video by Laila Lalami and her object was a khamsa.

My object is a sailboat that I sail in every summer. I have been sailing sense I was a little girl. In this photo, I am sailing with my grandfather. My grandpa and I are very similar people. Riding out on the lake, feeling the water splashing on my feet, all with him, really connects us. This boat, number 11, is a second home, my happy place. When I am out on the water, smelling the familiar salty air, I can relax and become myself. This boat gives me confidence and excitement. I would never be the person I am without it.
