I think the rice and beans are from Jamaica and South America and we eat it on holidays. So it's cooked rice and beans.  We usually have it with chicken, and it makes my family happy to have this meal.
I chose this object because it's interesting how my mom makes it. She boils the beans and then adds the rice until it’s cooked.  It tastes very good and she usually makes it on Thanksgiving. It teaches me about my culture because Jamaicans eat it a lot. It is a special meal for me because my mom makes it and she is a wonderful person and a great mom. Her parents were from Jamaica.
