Red Sox World Series Ring
The Curse of the Bambino was an 86 year drought from the Red Sox winning a World Series. So when my dad began working for them, he didn’t expect much. This changed in 2004 when they won and broke this curse. As the Red Sox got better, my father’s job became busier and so would my mother’s, because my brother was born shortly after. When I was born in 2009, my dad stopped working for the team. We moved out of Boston and to the suburbs, because my parents found it more fitting for me and my brother to grow up there. But at a young age I always heard stories about my dad’s time working for the Red Sox, and my mother would always say how they loved the city. My uncle, who still works for the team, has obtained every ring from after the curse ended. He also got my cousin a job there to begin his career after college. That is why my parents love the team. Not only did the job’s from the team provide for a lot of my family, but it also gave us good memories like it did for so many baseball fans here. My parents enjoyed that time so much that they even got married at Fenway. So kind of like my parents' wedding rings can represent their family, the World Series rings show my family’s love for the city, and the team.
