Hi my name is sumaya. I am from Somalia I live there for 9 years. I came to the united state when I was 9 years old. I started school when I was in 3rd grade. When I was in 5th grade I started dugsi. I go to dugsi on saturdays and sundays. I started learning more about the Quran. My mom buy for me kitab to Learn how to read the Quran it was written in Arabic. I started to learn Arabic I was learning more Arabic. I learned a lot from the Quran I even learn how to speak Arabic and how to write in Arabic. I was learning more about my religion. Everyday I would read my Quran and then I would have to memorize my Quran. When I go to dugsi I would have to pass to my teacher like my teacher would tell me to memorize two pages of Quran then I would pass two pages of quran. Sometimes I would have to read take tests on the quran like I would have to memorize a whole juz. The quran talks about the prophets. Also the quran talks about life. If I didn’t know how to read the quran I wouldn’t be able to pray because when you are praying u have to read the quran like three Surah. I love reading the quran because is fun. My mom and my dad teach me.
