Quinceanera

Relationship: Child of im/migrant

I’m going to talk about my quinseñera ring. This ring is important to me because my dad give it to me. It was when I was about to turn 15 years old. In Mexico the tradition is to celebrate the 15 years to your daughter because she is going to end her childhood to be a teen. I remember that like it was today. It was one of my most important days to me and all my family. I was so happy they decorate all the house and my dress was beautiful. All was just perfect. Then my dad give me this ring because he wanted me to have something that I can look and remember that day. Now I am 18 years and I still have the ring. I’m now in USA without my parents and when I see the ring I remember my dad and all the time I had with them. The ring is the only thing that gives me strength to get up every day out of bed and go to school and do my best… JUST FOR HIM
