My mother making pupusas

How can food be so meaningful to someone? At least for me, it is and means a lot. Pupusas were created around 2,000 years ago and since that moment has been part of the Salvadorian culture. I eat "pupusas" since I have memories since I was just a little kid going to school with her mom. I remember those days all starting with going to kindergarten with my mother and she saying "¿cuantas pupusas quieres hijo?" and a young Luis saying "dos mami" and then we take our seats on a small business and eat those "pupusas". Then I grew up and still went to school with my mother's companionship. Now, my mother gave me 1 dollar and for me that was enough, 2 pupusas and one horchata drink that was the heave in that time, and I even had 25 cents left that I could even save it or spend it in some fruit. That was my breakfast for a long time and I like it. I remember on the weekends, my grandmother had a small business where she used to sell pupusas and I could have free pupusas. That was the best part of the week. I remember one day before I started my journey, me and my mother, went to eat "pupusas" and for some reason those pupusas are the best I have ever eaten. I still remember that wonderful day. After that day, I haven't eaten pupusas like those or, in reality, I miss eating pupusas with my mom, Salvadorian pupusas. Every time I eat pupusas now, I cannot stop thinking in El Salvador and pupusa are a way to at least remember those beautiful days I spent with my mother, my grandma, and my friends.
