The Puerto Rican flag is important to me because it’s where my family is from. My family originated from Puerto Rico, my grandparents are from there. My mother and my father are also from there. It’s part of my background, it connects me to my culture.We had our flag all around our house to remind us of who we really are. The flag represents the struggle we went through just to be able to hang our flags up. The fighting that went into representing ourselves makes me proud of this flag. My culture is important to me. Our food, our dancing, our language, makes me who I am.
