Praying Statue
Praying statue
My object is a praying statue. It is important to my family because we use it to pray on many traditions. This statue is from Mexico and it was given to me by my grandma on my first communion.
Mexico has statues like these all over. There are larger statues in Mexico and we always pray in front of it at mass, special traditions, family events, and more.
Some of the traditions we use this on are
- Cinco de mayo(may 5th)
- Dia de los muertos (day of the dead)
- Christmas
- Communion
There are many questions I would like to ask about the statue:When was it made? How was it made? What is it made out of?
I chose this praying statue because it shows me more about my culture and it shows that I do a lot of praying. Prayer is important to my family and our culture.
