My object is a pot. My mom uses it to cook like a stove. It is from her hometown Burco, in Somaliland. She uses it to make pancakes, rice, and pasta. My mom and dad came to this country in 1997. She also bought that pot in that same year and we still have it! From their country to New York City this pot has traveled thousands of miles. My mother has used it when there had been blackouts in New York. she felt so prepared! I am proud of this and my mother because I can share this story and it serves as evidence of my history.
