I came to the Lower East Side in New York because my mother remarried and we had to move from Guangzhou, China.  It was a difficult adjustment for me because I didn't speak English and didn't have any friends.  I had a Gameboy from China and my favorite game was Pokemon.  It was a popular game and was a way for me to communicate and make friends.  My Gameboy doesn't work anymore and I can't play this game now, but I keep it because it reminds me of how you can communicate and make friends through more than just language.
