My dad's name is Andrew and he is from Wales, U.K.  He came here in his 20’s because he did not like the education system in Britain. Now he is 47 years old and he is a material scientist. 

My object is a pocket watch. It was my great grandfathers and now it is my dads. My  only question about it is if me or my brother will get it? It is from America even though my dad is British. The pocket watch was used to tell time though no one uses it anymore. Now it is more of a antique. The watch is made from 24 karat gold and about one hundred years old. Since my grandfather died my dad had his name inscribed into the back of the watch, Oliver Curtis.
 The reason I chose this pocket watch is because it is special to me and my dad.  It reminds me, though I was born in America, a part of me was born in the UK before I actually was born. Though I live in America and do not speak like a Brit, but more like a Yank, I like to think myself British. My favorite part about the watch is the gears in the back of it. It is very fascinating seeing how it works!
