Pierogi

My recipe is a recipe passed down from my grandma to my mom and soon, me. It was used (in the generation where my mom is a kid)for event like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Now me and my mom just have it for lunch or dinner. But also for events. It gets really messy and hard to make, but in the end it is worth it. They are important to me because it is a recipe that has been going on for along time with no change. Also, THEY ARE DELICIOUS!! Ingredients:dough, mashed potatoes, cheese, pepper, salt, and onions. To make dough you need flour and dough. This is called ruskie pierogi (russian pierogi in english) even though they are polish. In english they are called polish dumplings.Pierogi can be boiled, fried, or baked. When I visit my grandma she still makes them for me and my sister. It has been going on for many decades but feels like decillion years (1 with 33 zeros). They can have many different things inside for example blueberries,meat,cabbage,etc... By:Natalia
