picture of sibling
My artifact is a picture of myself and my cousin named Moiz, who was like a brother to me in Pakistan. It shows my family as my identity and it also shows that family is very important. Whenever I see the object it seems that time has stopped. Before I moved to the United States from Pakistan in 2024, I lived with Moiz for 15 years, and I haven’t seen him since I moved to the US. So whenever I look at the artifact and see us together I feel sad and emotional. This means a lot to me because the picture of him and me was my phone wallpaper . This object and my story connects me to the people of New York City because most of the other people have moved away from their countries and left their loved ones. More than 1 in 3 residents in New York City are immigrants. The constitution guarantees right to everyone, and this story shows that distance can separate the people but it can never separate the family bond .
