My object is a picture of my great-grandmother Betty as a baby. On the back, there is untranslated Russian writing and a picture of a woman on the back.The photo comes from Russia, because she was born in Russia. Her family fled here in a hurry. They had to leave because my Great-Great Grandfather Abe was going to be drafted into Czar Nicholas II’s army, and that would cause great danger to the family. It is special to my family because reminds my family and I of where we are from. It reminds my Grandma of her mother. It’s makes us feel happy when we are reminded of our heritage, and how brave Abe and his wife Anna must’ve been to come here. We are grateful; because if Abe and Anna’s family hadn’t fled to the US, things could’ve been a lot worse for me and my family. I very well could not have existed People can learn that when people took pictures, they may’ve put them in a little frame that has Russian on it..
