Picture of Great Grandma
This picture is a picture of my great grandmother who raised my father. This picture is an important part of my family and keeps us together. My father loves his grandmother as his mother since she raised him. She was the first generation born in the U.S. after my family emigrated here from Chile. My father called her mama and kept all the pictures of her at our house instead of with my uncle or grandma. My father grew up alone after my grandma left him and my grandpa passed away; my great-grandmother Laura took my dad into her home and raised him. This picture is the day she graduated to become a pastor of her church in 1978. She was born in 1901 as the first person to be born in the U.S. from that side of the family. She was a well-respected woman in her community who took care of the kids and taught them the Bible. This picture serves as a reminder of an important reminder of my dad's life and my family. She is an important reminder of what woman can accomplish since she was alive during the fight for women’s rights, and she reminds everyone in this house what women can do if they put their mind to it.
