The object I chose is a picture. It may not seem like much, but it means a lot in my family. My grandpa gave up his whole life and came to America. He was only 8 when he came here in 1954 by boat. My grandpa had a picture of his town, Palena. It was a picture that had many things in it with meaning. This object connects to my culture because it is of a place in Italy. In the object you can see a bunch of trees, my grandpas uncle had planted those trees in the town. Also you can see a church which had been bombed by Americans during World War two by accident from trying to bomb a bridge to escape from the Germans. My grandpa’s dad had rebuilt that church because he was a bricklayer. My grandpa's father and his two uncles were taken prisoner at one point by Germans and luckily because they knew the house, they escaped and got away. This picture holds all this information and means a lot to me because it shows where my family came from and what it went through.
