Photograph, Havana, Cuba, 1935
My family artifact is a black and white picture of my great grandparents at a bar in Havana, Cuba in August, 1935. The original is made of photo paper, and the frame is made of wood. It is 5 inches by 7 inches, and is rectangular. For some reason there was this person who took the picture for my dad's grandparents. I do not know why, but he did. The first owner of the picture was my great grandparents, then my grandparents, then my dad. Every time my dad looks at the picture, it reminds him of the two people he loved very much who are no longer alive. It is a portal to a different time period and he feels close to them. Plus, my dad said they had great style.
