Photobook
My parents are from the Dominican Republic. This photo book belongs to my mother. When she came, she inherited all these photographs of our family, including pictures of my great-grandmother, my grandmother, her, and everyone else. It holds such a wide collection of memories and histories, allowing both me and her to engage in dialogue.Through these photographs, she has described places to me and even rebuilt her childhood home in my mind. A place that still exist within these photos. They have given me the opportunity to interact with and see people I have never met, all from her perspective. In a way, I have been able to see the world through her eyes, which I think is a very special connection. This photo book has allowed me to know her in so many ways. From her deepest thoughts to her mindless walks, from her moments of sorrow to her moments of happiness and understanding.
