The object is a photo of me and my grandparents.  It was taken in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. These are my mother’s parents who are from Ukraine. She left her home country of Ukraine to come to the United States for highschool and college in 1996.   
In the picture I am four years old and spending time with my babushka and my dadushka. They speak to me in English as they live in California. My mother lived with them in California. My mom chose to move to New York because a lot of her friends were here. Unfortunately, my mother’s parents do not visit often. 
I am proud to be half Ukrainian, I don’t speak Russian, but my brother does a little. I would like one day to visit Ukraine and see where my family from my mother’s side came from.
