Photo Album
The object I chose was a photo album---I first came to the States in 2011 when I was 13. It was a hard decision for my family at that time to send me to the states for high school because that meant that I need to come to America and stay here for education all by myself in the next 8 years or so. Before I left for the States, my parents handed my a photo album that they prepared in advanced. In the album it included all the meaningful pictures from when I was born, to that day present. My parents told me this album would be something meaningful for my to keep. At that time, I did not fully understand what they meant. But as I stayed in the states from longer and longer, I realized that photo album always reminds me of my identity--- of who I am, where I come from, and what cultures I belong to. Every time I look through the album, I am reminded that I am Chinese and that identity will never be washed away no matter where I travel.
