Patrice Hemery Lumumba was the prime minister of the DRC from 24 June 1960 to 5 September 1960. He was born in 2 July 1925 and died 17 January 1961. He is the hero of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's independence. There is his statue in Kinshasa the capitol of DRC, and every 17 January is a holiday in DRC to remember its hero. He was a politician and he had a political party called MNC which stands for Congolese National Movement from 1958 until his assassination. He was popular for his speech at Congolese Round Table Conference in Brussels, He went in Brussels on 27 January 1960 with a declaration of Congolese independence. 30 June 1960 was set as the date of the independence.
