Pasta
My object is pasta. Pasta and Italian food have always been a part of my life and were incorporated in my diet throughout my childhood. I like pretty much any kind of Italian food and my family and I enjoy making homemade pasta and garlic bread. This is significant to me because although I do not know a lot about my family history, I know that my great great grandfather, Anthony Fisher, immigrated to America from Italy. He came from Italy and landed in New York. He eventually settled in Warrenton, Virginia, thus where most of my family lives. His daughter, my great grandmother, lived just a few minutes away in Bealeton, Virginia. She passed away when I was a baby and from what I have heard, she could make some bomb pasta. I travel there, about 3 hours, many times during the summer to visit family and they always cook pasta too. My parents cook pasta dishes at least once a week as well to carry on the tradition. My Italian heritage is one of the reasons why we regularly partake in making and eating Italian cuisine. My family’s story is unique because of the same reason as everyone else’s, it is different. Everybody comes from a different background and has different traditions. Each person has a different family story and this is mine.
