One thing that connects me with my family is the prayer said at Thanksgiving dinner. On Thanksgiving, my family comes from Georgia, Kentucky, Chicago,North Carolina, and South Carolina to celebrate thanksgiving with the rest of us. This has always been a tradition in my family to all get together and have a prayer before we eat. Certain foods that we have on thanksgiving that others might not have is grits, sweet potato pie, cornbread stuffing, a lot of our southern roots are represented in our feast. The prayer is important to me because it is not stated until all family members are present and ready to eat. At that moment, each year, everyone is together and the holiday is very special.
