Landscape of Thailand
I am from Jo Wey village, a Karen community in Burma and I arrived in the United States in February 2017. My landscape portrays daily life in the village. Here, people fish and work. My Dad and his friends gathered bamboo from the forest and used it to build houses. The roofs were woven with tall grass reeds. People would travel here to visit family, trade, and find shelter when traveling. There are two people on the bridge who have maybe lost their way traveling. I had a good friend in the village: we are sitting on the bench in the middle of the picture. I miss the village, the daily life, and this is a memory I’ve brought to the USA.
