Our Family Recipe Books
The object of my story are these three old recipe books made by my grandmother. A long time ago when my grandmother was a little older than me, she took a bunch of recipes her family knew and used a typewriter to write them down. There ended up being enough recipes to complete three different books. Eventually my grandmother passed the books on to my mother, and my mother says when I get my own home she will pass them on to me. The recipes are very special to our family, we often use them to make dishes and treats for holidays or special occasions. Our longest lasting tradition is making my great-grandmother’s chocolate fudge for Christmas. The recipe is super secret, but on Christmas we make a large batch of fudge and gift it to friends and family to enjoy.
