Niño Dios

For as long as I can remember, this Niño Dios has always been in my family’s houses. They always have him dressed up as any saint, and I know a lot of Mexican families have him in their house. Every Christmas we always "acostar El Niño Dios" which is when we lay it on a blanket and rock it to sleep and then put it in "el nacimiento”. After a few days we "levantar" it, which is when we sit it back on a chair and dress it differently then what it had. In Mexico you also can get "aguinaldos," which is just a bag with candy. This is an experience that I will always remember since my childhood, and will have my kids know and get to see one in their home like I did.
