This Nigerian attire is significant to me because it identifies me as a Nigerian. When i wore this Nigerian outfit it helped represent where I came from. Wearing this Nigerian attire contributed to showing where I came from because it is different. It is different from the regular clothes we wear here in America. The attire is made by you, you pick the colors and designs you want. It is usually worn on special occasions such as church. This attire has also started a trend now here in America and other countries too. This fashion trend is called a dashiki, you may have seen many people wear it like celebrities or friends. This Nigerian attire is significant to me because it was made many years ago by my people and it is still being worn now, not only in Nigeria but in other countries too.
