This necklace is part of a set that belonged to my great grandma, she gave it to me when I went to visit her last year. My great grandma gave one of the necklaces to my mom right before she left Russia, so my mom had something to remember her by. At the time my mom left Russia it was very difficult to travel between the U.S and Russia. My mom did not know if she would ever see her family again. When my mom came to the U.S she only had seventy U.S dollars, making the necklace the most valuable thing she owned. My mom loved the necklace so much that she wore it every day. She gave me the other necklace now incase we would not see her again.
