The object I chose is a necklace with a khanda on it. This necklace is special in my family because it was originally my grandpa's. My grandpa was an immigrant from India, and as I heard he sacrificed so much to give us a better life in the United States . Before his passing, he gave the necklace to my father who kept it for many years. The Khanda , two kirpans and the chakkar representing the concept of that are pillars of sikhism. However, this necklace has meaning and stories behind each that has worn it. It has a sentimental value for me, my family and my religion.
