Navy Hat
My object is my great-grandfather’s navy hat. He was in the Canadian Navy, and fought in the Battle of the Atlantic, which lasted the entirety of World War II. He used it the whole war. He also got three medals from the war.
I chose his hat because it is a very important part of my family’s history. My father was his grandson, and my dad was also the first one of his side of the family to immigrate to America. My grandmother was named after the ship my great-grandfather was on, called the Camrose.
That is why I chose my great-grandfather’s hat from World War II and the Battle of Atlantic. The Battle of the Atlantic lasted from 1939 to 1945 and was a big part of World War II naval history.
