African Necklace

My object is a African necklace, this object was made of woods, thread, and bead. It was made in Liberia where I came from. The story behind this necklace is it’s the last thing my brother give me before he died. My brother and I were close when he was alive, we told each other everything. I used to tell him that I wanted a necklace with my name on it, but never thought that he was listening.  When I came to the United States, we used to talk everyday, one year later my dad called me and told me that he was in an accident and he was in the hospital. When he died they didn’t tell me because they knew that I would be hurt more. When I went back to Liberia my dad told me that he die, and he give the necklace and told me that my brother told him to give the necklace to me. It meant so much to me but I was so sad that he wasn’t there for me to hug him and tell him I love him. It is important to me because when I wear the necklace it always feels like he was there with me and that he was watching over me. This necklace represents me as an African.
