Dime

This dime was given to me when I was ten years old by my grandmother. Her family came to America from Serbia in the 1920's. On her wedding day in 1942, her father gave her this dime as a symbol of luck and prosperity in a country that still felt new to him. My grandma gave it to me so that I would have an object that connected me to her father and her own history.
