My paternal grandmother was born in England in June,1948.She grew up in South Australia where, at the age of 18, she became the first woman to be trained as a journalist by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. She arrived in Los Angeles from Australia in May, 1969, on what was intended to be a six week visit to a friend.Instead, she met and married my grandfather and became a U, S citizen in 2002
