This brass pocket watch was made in the 1800s. It is a Waltham railroad timepiece. This watch was used by my great-grandfather on the railroads in Boston, Massachusetts. My great-grandfather had ancestors that immigrated to America from Scotland. He passed this watch down to my grandfather, who then passed it down to my father. This pocket watch represents hard work and dedication, values that are both very important to my family. It’s made of brass and glass and has a loop so it can be held on a chain. It is kept in my father’s office in a glass case. We look at it to remember my great grandpa and the work he did. I connect to this item because I also want to work hard in life.
