Music of the Beatles
My father's name is Roque Cisneros and he is an immigrant to the United States. He was born April 18, 1964 at San Miguel, El Salvador. My father made his decision to come to the United States in the early 90s because he wanted find new opportunities. Unfortunately, there is nothing significant from his homeland that he brought. Roque arrived to the United States how most immigrants came. Most immigrants arrived to the United States by "crossing the border." My father would say in Spanish, "Crusando la tierra!" El Salvador is a developing nation with a poor economy. Although my father completed his high school degree and an Associate's Degree, it wasn't enough for a Salvadorian to manage their lives. In addition, El Salvador faces problems such as gangs, robberies, murder, and lots of people are not wealthy. When my father came here, what he found very useful was the Rock and Roll music from the 60s to the 80s, especially songs from The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and more. He kept repeating words of the songs, and this is how he learned to speak English and was then able to communicate with more people with the language natural to them. One of Roque's favorite song is, "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles. Why, my father may be a strict and disciplined individual, but he is a sensitive man too. A few years ago, my father passed the exam to become a U.S Citizen. This is one of the most appreciative achievements from my father Roque.
